"I got Rhythm"

The common thread of this programme: joy! When classical composers take an interest in indigenous rhythms, popular dances and jazz, the result is electrifying, magnified by the virtuoso interplay of responses between the two pianos. Milhaud's Samba responds to Bennett's Samba, Mayerl's authentic ragtime opens the door to Bolcom's falsely simple rags; Tsfasman, the "Russian Gershwin", pays homage to his American twin... You've not finished humming all these melodies!

Bennett : Samba triste
Gershwin : Three preludes
Tsfasman : Always with you
